I disagree that liberals tend to be smarter. They tend to be more bookish and less able to do things manually so they spend more time in school getting degrees. In the real world they usually aren't very good.

I am a teacher and there is actually a huge push for more positive behavior recognition and less negative consequences. Many teachers complain about Liberals pushing that down schools throat, so I'm not sure how liberals are responsible for both encouraging and discouraging "honor roll parties".

Positive reinforcement has a greater impact on a child's behavior patterns than negative reinforcement.
