Don't touch my family or my money and there won't be any problems. Oh and don't be a dick and take the last piece of pizza or the last beer.

I'm not talking about protecting property or loved ones.

Someone going after my dogs, but I guess that would be property.. Other than that, I am not sure. I don't let people's opinion get worked up. You can't change people's beliefs, if they are passionate enough to argue over it then there is no point to engage.

I do have a brother-in-law, who says some crazy insane shite and has views that I have no idea where he gets this shite from.

For example, this was at a holiday gathering a few years ago. Me and my brother were talking football and he comes around and jumps in the conversation.. "I can't stand the NFL. It already pisses me off that they all play for the money, but what made me stop watching was when they all started wearing pink"..

I told him "they wear pink in October to bring attention to breast cancer" and he looks at me and my brother with a dead serious face "I don't care what it's for, no grown man should ever have the color pink on and I am not going to watch them fly all over the field wearing pink". People like that, who have some insane, non logical beliefs might make me get violent, but I'd just want to beat the shite out of them for being so goddamn stupid.

First thought is there wouldn't be much I'd do violence to protect, but the more I think about it, there is actually quite a lot.

Someone harming children, the helpless, the elderly? Yeah, if I'm in a position to stop it, you're going to have to kick my arse.

Several of my Constitutional rights will not be trod upon without violence, the first and most important being the right to keep and bear. It is the check, the defense mechanism, for all other inalienable rights.

Kind of doubt violence for silencing my free speech, unless violence was being used to silence me. Even then, I'd probably just seek an attorney.

Not a huge religious person, but if someone were to physically attempt to prevent me from entering my chosen place of worship, it wouldn't end well for one of us. Right to vote would probably be the same.

Is there a social, historical, or religious principle that you believe in strongly enough that you would use violence in order to protect it?
