Someone stole my garbage can

I put my trash out Tuesday night for the garbage man to pick it up Wednesday. I get home Wednesday evening and my trash can is gone. Everyone in the neighborhood has the same trash can so it could be that one of my neighbors took mine by mistake. I was hoping this was the case and that they would recognize their mistake and bring it back. It's now Friday and its still missing. Should I give up hope and just order a new one because I have no way of determining if a can is mine or not. I dont know the number on it.

It probably came loose from the gripper and fell in the trash truck. Happened to me before. Call your waste mgt provider and get a new one. It happens often

Happened to me once. The garbage man left the can on the wrong curb, and the next door neighbors kid doesn't know any better, and took it to their house. Parents probably don't know about it. I bet you this is what happened to you. Just ask your neighbors.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this. We've been living next door to each for five years and don't know each others names. We just wave at each other when we are out in the yard.

Not being shitty, but if you don't pay your bill the company will pick up the container if left on the street...

Maybe that's his...or her...way of extending an olive branch. This weekend could be very interesting for you if you just go over and knock on a door or two.
