I heard Rep. Matt Watson this morning on talk radio discussing this new tire shredder and him saying they were met with a large group of angry protesters. I was wondering where the misinformation about this shredder originated from. Now I see.

quote:

Gary Chambers
23 hrs ·
Councilman Matt Watson Put the tire shredder in your district, North Baton Rouge shouldn’t continue to be used as the dumping ground for East Baton Rouge Parish, we’ve sacrificed enough — “for the good of the parish.”

Click the link, share, start the conversation.

Same dude that gets pissed about no business in NBR but when business comes he gets pissed.

quote:

Matt Watson Abigail Winget this is not a landfill at all. The tires will be shredded and the material will leave our community.

quote:

Matt Watson Abigail Winget the tires would remain solid throughout the whole process meaning that they would be cut into just smaller solid pieces. There's no chemical process or burning or anything else that. Many of these tires in fact the vast majority of these tires are the ones that are laying on the ground having been dumped all over our community. Those are the tires I desperately want to get cleaned up. Because are older, they have already off gassed any chemicals that would have been in them, in fact the most dangerous tires to be around are freshly produced tires.

seems like the easy answer would be to show a little pride in your neighborhood and not dump tires in empty lots

take the shredder back and say "good luck with those tires"

Such a business might create a few jobs for the area, we can't have that now can we.

Someone failed to pay Gravy a “consulting fee” to make sure the new business was welcomed with open arms. Am I the only person here who knows how Race Hustlers work? Damn.

The tire shredder is being installed by MARC (Mosquito and Rodent Control) through a federal grant. MARC is located right by the airport, in North BR... they already have space and a building for it. They're supposed to buy land and build a new building on the taxpayer dime just to locate it somewhere else?

Yeah, that's full retard.

That's exactly what I was thinking, except like..open bags of potato chips and dip on his altar, rib bones with gnaw marks, robe doubles as an apron, etc.

An area with Jack shite for businesses can’t be picking and choosing too much when someone wants to relocate there.

You keep turning down businesses that want to be there and attacking ones which are already there, you won’t have anything at some point.

They shred them and use them for mulch. It actually inspires others to pick up trash tires illegally dumped to bring them in and get shredded.

Who wouldn't want a tire shredder place to boost business in their community. I heard the Highland Rd/ CCLA really wanted, but lost out to NBR ..oh well, always next time

Isn't tire shredding and selling the shredded rubber a pretty lucrative business? They use that ground up tire rubber for tons of shite.

And it makes recycled use of tires that are abandoned all over the road and in empty lots.

I'm confused why anyone is mad about this?

How about a compromise, put it in each district until all abandoned tires are shredded in each district.

Start in SG, then next week move it to Southdowns, then next week to Broadmoor/Sherwood, next week to NBR and then a couple of years later to Baker, etc.

I would throw his dumbass in the shredder, but he would jam it up and break it.

Good business dictates you build your plant closest to your source of raw materials.

I'd gladly take this business in my neighborhood in a commercially zoned area.

Seems like a great way to clean up tires in the area and to create a recycled product that can be sold for a profit.

Thanks Gary, South BR will take it, the jobs, and the tax money made off your hands.
