So You Got an Instant Pot on Prime Day—Now What?

Thought you pot heads might like this.
Holy shite Amazon sold 215000 on Prime Day, that meant 50 people besides TD users also bought one.
The Sweet Home
Some things you should know about the Instant Pot:
Cook times for the Instant Pot sound really fast, but you have to remember that it takes about 10 to 13 minutes to get up to pressure (less if you’re using less water) and another 15 to 20 minutes to release the pressure after the cooking has finished. Thankfully, the Instant Pot does that work for you, so you can watch TV or keep the kids from impaling themselves on your furniture while you wait.
In our tests, we found that brown rice didn’t come out as well in any of the electric pressure cookers as it does in a dedicated upgrade rice cooker such as the Cuckoo or Zojirushi. We prefer brown rice from a dedicated rice cooker—don’t throw yours out!
The Instant Pot cooks at 11.5 PSI, which means that it takes longer to cook than a stovetop pressure cooker. If you’re using a recipe designed for a stovetop pressure cooker, add about 7 to 15 percent more cooking time. If you’re cooking at high altitude, you’ll need to add even more time. Here’s a handy chart.

We have one of these and they are awesome

My standalone rice cooker can't cook dried beans in 30 minutes, and the stove top cookers don't have built in timers...I'll continue to be Lazy and use my Instant Pot.
On another note that Saute setting keeps me from dirtying multiple pats/pans.

Bought one of these on Prime Day last year. Love the damn thing.
I do agree though that while actual cool times are quick the pressurization and depressurization add about 30 minutes to everything. Still better than a crock pot though.

Same sale on Black Friday and cyber Monday. If you still want it in November, you can get it then.
