It's the same government warning for Tornadoes or mandatory evacuation along the coast for hurricane. I don't see protests for those. I don't see all the snowflake melting when they say hunker down in place for tornado. You should rebel then like you are doing now.

It’s still people’s choice. I choose to stay sheltered during a hurricane, because it legitimately is a threat to my well-being. Not everyone does, and they deal with the consequences. I am not threatened by this virus, yet it’s directly affecting my well-being through no fault or decision of my own.

And the commerce clause of the constitution actually gives the government the right to restrict commerce.

It gives CONGRESS the right to regulate commerce between states and with foreign governments and Indians. That's all, though they sure do like to use it anywhere they can. However, it says nothing about some walleyed halfwit from Amite.

Good try though.

Indeed. The Governor's powers derive from the Louisiana Constitution through the 10th Amendment ceding all powers not expressly enumerated to the federal government or prohibited to the states by the U.S. Constitution to the individual states.

You’re actually comparing these to our current situation?

No rights are being restricted. The Supreme Court has already ruled on this.

Rights are absolutely being restricted.

What you meant to say was it's considered constitutional so long as it is backed by a real and substantial health reason. Hell, a stay at home order during flu season would pass muster if someone really wanted to try it, but common sense needs to take over at some point.

I think just let the people who want to go out to go out. I'm all for natural selection. I'll stay inside

It seems like when we were at the peak of the virus he was on TV giving updates all the time. Now we are flattening the curve and we are not hearing from him as much.
