No they didn't, they never hired him in the first place. He came out this morning saying Michigan State used his trivia game questions without authorization or compensation.

I don't get it. It's a trivia question.

It's a rather odd trivia question to appear on a scoreboard of a college football game, but that is all that it is, a question about an infamous historical figure, and the answer.

If they'd asked where Atilla the Hun, Vlad the Impaler, or Ivan the Terrible had been born, would people be so triggered?

Random shite about Hitler is actually an improvement over the usual irrelevant stupidity the big screens and PA systems seem to get used for.

Since we’re not allowed to teach history anymore, trivia may be the only way to educate the snowflakes

I agree it’s an odd look, but taken in context, this was probably one of many trivia questions running on the scoreboard while people were waiting on everything to start. Then probably not that weird.

What's the problem? Who could possibly be offended by that?

He was born in Austria.

It's a good trivia question, since most default to Germany. Kind of like how Josef Stalin wasn't even Russian and spoke it with a major accent. Would asking where he was born be inappropriate too?
It's a football game. Why ask anything like that? Why not ask something about Michigan history, Motown, or the state bird, tree, flower, insect, crappy yankee food, origins of accents, etc.

No. It's a football game that people use as a few hours of escape. Nobody needs to be reminded of an evil sociopath or political leftist or conservative issues. Sports used to unite, now it's another bludgeon used to foster a divide in too many cases.

OK, enjoy hearing the opening 15 seconds of "Crazy Train" 46 times in 3 hours then.

People weren't as triggered by Hitler back in the 90's. People could mock Hitler by dressing up as him to be ironic or whatever and it was edgy but not that outrageous.

We are way more sensitive and outraged today and yet race relations are worse than ever.

it's a football game, not a classroom

it's objectively odd (and in poor taste) to put a picture of Hitler on your football scoreboard just days after Israel was the target of a massive terrorist attack

And Hitler's father was a bastard born as Alios Schicklgruber. He petitioned the town officials to recognize his step father (may have been his biological father) as his father and his last name was Hiedler. Well the name was mispelled as Hitler and he just kept it. So without the name change Hitler would have been born Adolf Schicklgruber.
