And you damn well better not be proud of it
quote:

There are many kinds of privilege besides white privilege: cognitive privilege, for example. We now know that intelligence is not something we have significant control over but is something we are born with. We are living in a society in which success is increasingly linked to one’s intelligence. ... Thus, the accident of having been born smart enough to be able to be successful is a great benefit that you did absolutely nothing to earn. Consequently, you have nothing to be proud of for being smart.

You are lacking "cognitive intelligence" if you even took the time to read that entire article.

So yes, it's a privilege

I'm white and male. Thank God I can finally stand behind a cause because nobody has ever called me smart.

So technically can I be triggered now?

5, 4, hell maybe even 3 years ago I would have thought this was a joke. But now I know better; this world is changing faster and faster into something... weird... Worst part is, I'm only in my 20's so I get to see it all unravel. Makes me sad that I have to watch it happen. Honestly, I sometimes wish I was born 40 years earlier so that when I died, there would still be hope. Now I have to live my life during a turning point in humanity having awesome tech but being like... this. It's not going to stop, is it? I think this is why I drink.

I'll pay attention when a white man chops off his penis and identifies as a black woman.

Bruce came to play with a full house but white man to black woman is the royal flush.

It is, but smart people run this world and will always do so.

That's not FAIRRRRRRR.

What's doubly irritating about this is how much effort does go into what most people consider in the connotation "smart."

Sure genetic gifts are a part, but a LOT of it comes from how you think, and the perspectives you take, and the effort to better yourself.

Example: even if your intelligence allows you to easily retain information, you still have to make an effort to attain it, and practice how to apply it to the world.

But this opens up for the lazy frickers blaming the world for their failures just another avenue for it.

These people are so butthurt. I love the arrogance they speak with though, it's almost admirable

Buck up, little guy. It just seems like this is more prevalent because the internet gives every dipshit a voice.

I'll ignore the "little guy" comment and say that you are right. The world has always been messed up, but now we can share it all in real time. Sucks that we suck I guess...

Uh oh, are they really finally admitting that genetics has an influence on intelligence, and that intelligence is a big driver of socio-economic outcomes?!

So when do people like BugaPainTrain7 start being handed CEO jobs to make up for their lack of cognitive privilege?
