Let me correct myself because it's not necessarily the fact that the president is black because I think Ben Carson would have been a better president when it comes to race relations, it more of the fact that Obama is black and as a black president he has been the worst thing that has ever happen to this country

1. Bring attention to themselves
2. Makes them feel like they are part of previous civil rights movement where they fought for the rights that should be given to all citizens. Only now there is nothing to be gained other than attention which has been achieved.
Almost 50 years later the African American community wants to blame systematic racism for their continued failures even though there have been numerous affirmative action policies put into play to give them the advantage.
Unfortunately, the protesters aren't smart enough to realize that instead of embracing and coming to the defense of the thug lifestyle they should shame those that promote it. They should have used Alton Sterling as an example instead of immortalizing him.
Until they embrace and look at President Obama (at least how he conducts himself) Clarence Thomas, Herman Cain, Ben Carson, and other successful African American Business Leaders in their communities for leadership the cycle will continue.
