Just had an episode this morning...about the 3rd of 4th time I've experienced it in my life, but this was the worst one.

I "woke up" and saw a gold, shadowy figure coming toward me, and then was hit by what felt like a dull electric charge in my upper body. Lasted a short period without being able to talk, move or react, then I finally woke up. Pretty crazy, and almost exactly the hallucinations described by many who have it. Wonder what's up with the weird ghostly shape?

wiki link

similar to what I saw, but mine was a goldish colour..

It's been a long while since I've had it. Never seen any shadowy figure or anything trippy. I typically did the Kill Bill wiggle your big toe mind trick. Made me snap out of it. It usually happened when I was strung out from back to back all-nighters studying with minimal sleep.

This actually happened to me last week for the first time since I was a kid. I thought I was up and screaming but I wasn't. It's weird shite.

Wiggle your toes! This is the only way to snap out of it for me.

the sleep paralysis has...first time when I was in high school then at least one more time since before this morning...as I said, this was the first time I remember "seeing" something.

I have them every year or two and feel your pain. What seems to trigger them is being too hot while sleeping

Yikes. I had a sleep paralysis episode over the weekend, but I've never seen anything like that. For me, it just feels like there's an electrical current zapping my brain/neck/chest, and I can't move. I've had them occasionally since high school. I don't know if I've ever opened my eyes during an occurrence.

I've had it twice. The first time was the most terrifying experience of my life. I read up on it and when it happened the next time, I just remained calm since I knew what was going on, and it was fine. Actually a pretty cool experience if you don't freak out.

I've never had sleep paralysis..Might be because I sleep on my stomach, I hear it is a trait more common amongst back sleepers

I have had exploding head syndrome which I hear is related to sleep paralysis

Agree. It's a super weird feeling, but it doesn't scare me anymore, so I'm able to...enjoy isn't the right sentiment. Let myself experience it without panicking, I guess.

It happens to me every now and then (couple times a year). Pretty wacky feeling.

Yeah I made a thread on it about a month ago

I've had it all throughout my life it seems... I'll go through periods of having it and then it will go away for a good while.

'Stuff you should know' did a podcast on it a few weeks ago. They also talked about the exploding head stuff, I have never had that and it seems weird as frick. Neither of the host have had sleep paralysis but they still do a good job describing it in my opinion.
