Six Florida teenagers were arrested and accused of stealing an expensive Porsche automobile, $200,000 in cash, and two handguns, then blowing the money on gold teeth and expensive gifts for their mothers.

The suspects, between the ages of 14 and 16, stand accused of robbing the North Hutchinson Island, Florida, home of Brett Browning on April 27, according to the Daily Mail.

So your teen aged son purchases you a brand new 80K vehicle and no questions asked...

I'd like to see that 10k gold chain...

Not only that, but why does a guy(victim) with a $50/60k Porsche only have 200k in assets, all in cash in a safe in his house?

ETA: Per another article on this story, the homeowner stated the 200k was "all of his assets".

Sounds like some real good mothers and role models for accepting the gifts. No wonder the kids are thieves.

Wow, it's just yet another Florida story. My God, did anyone click on this article and before reading it not think to themselves "Wow, Florida is on a roll today". Only a Floridian would be dumb enough to steel a Porche and purchase gold teeth with it first thing.

Where does it say that all the victim has in assets?

See my edit. In another article on this story I read earlier today he supposedly stated that.

Here it is:
Daily Mail

quote:

When he went inside, he found his safe was missing containing his life savings - more than $200,000 cash - along with his .380-caliber Ruger pistol and a revolver.

The money was in ziplock bags in a safe. WTF?

While the victim here has some strange things going on about him, it doesn't take much to think that a house with a Porsche has money in it. And if you see a safe, to just take the whole safe.

Happy I'm not the only one that thought having $200k in cash seems a bit fishy

If this doesn't scream "I'm a drug dealer!" I don't know what does.

There are only four types of people that should have that much money in their house.

1) Survivor of the Depression
2) People who don't trust the Federal Reserve/banks or what have you
3) Those involved in illegal activity
4) Idiots

i hope the mothers who received "gifts" are able to be prosecuted as well.

Sheriff's report said the group, who each have a long rap sheet despite their young ages, were all in custody in other jurisdictions in connection with other crimes when they were arrested Monday
