I don't think I've ever seen a group of people work with less of a sense of urgency than these people.

The Zootopia and Simpsons references are spot on.

Some DMV locations in the Houston area have upgraded to Super Centers. You can call ahead and set an appointment for whatever you need. Last time I was in/out in about 10 minutes.

Sorry your state lacks logical decision making processes.

In Florida, I changed my adress, got a new drivers license, and applied to become a legal resident of the state in less than 30 minutes.

Have they made the announcement that their computer system is down yet? Always happens when I go into the Black Hole that is the DMV.

We renew online. And have a separate line for DL renewals outside of the tag line. Now that I think of it, there is a separate line for titles as well, so if you buy a car you can wait in that shorter line and they process the tag as well. There is really no reason to go stand in a line for a couple of hours to renew a tag. I gladly pay the $2.95 fee to pay it online. I renewed yesterday in about 3 minutes from my desk.

Sat at the DMV for 1.5 hours yesterday to pick up a license plate. Finally get called up, and the woman tells me the dealer (bought the car in Texas) sent a check for $140 too much. And I have to pay penalties and interest because it was sent late. And now she has to send the check back so they can send the proper amount. So now the penalties and interest will be even more since it will take another 2-3 weeks probably. Like the state can't just refund the overpay amount to me? So now I'm still on an expired temporary plate.

Went to the Houma dmv once. There was only 4 other people in the whole place. Awesome. Then I realized all four of those people were getting the sex offender ids

I gotta say, the one in Marksville is really quick.

That's literally the only thing I can think of about the city of Marksville that isn't complete fricking garbage.

The DMV is a nightmare. I will gladly pay the extra money to go to one of the satellite stations to renew my license. All it takes is a couple DUMB F's to screw the whole flow up. I had to go to the SS office to get a re-issued SS card. I have to say that place is a well oiled machine.
