So we are gonna see Niagra Falls Wednesday and plan to leave Thursday and drive through Canada and back into USA Friday to be in Syracuse Friday evening. What is there to see and do along the way? Thanks in advance for any input.

If you drive east, aren't you just back in the U.S.? Loop up to Toronto for a bit, if you can.

Drive to Toronto and spend a day there if you can, or part of a day.
From there you can head east along 401 on the north side of Lake Ontario, then head south to Syracuse on east side of Lake Ontario.
From Toronto to Syracuse is approx. 4 hours on south side of Lake Ontario through the US
Going North of Lake Ontario is about 4.5 hours
Look up Prince Edward County, great little area, wineries, etc.
Also look up 1000 Islands, another great area. very scenic
Be careful what time of day you travel from Niagara Falls across the city of Toronto, late afternoon will be some of the worst traffic you have ever experienced

Yellowknife. When you are at the border crossing at Niagra Falls ask the Canadian Border folks for directions.

Canada is larger than the USA. Might want to specify what areas you want to see.

Banff is at the other end of tHe country, it would be like driving from Michigan to Idaho
But I agree, Banff is UN-BE-LIEVEBLY GORGEOUS
WAS there in summer of 2011
Every summer since has been disappointing lol

If you were in Western Canada I could be of more help. I think there are a lot of wineries around there on both sides of the border. That might be something to look into.

Warning: A Canadian OT 7 is only worth 0.76 US. (She's like a 5.4)

I went to Banff like 16 years ago and didn't realize until you said this that it's basically due north of me. The hotel had Detroit local news so I always figured it was by Michigan.
