When you find the exact Lego piece that you were looking for.

When you break your personal record for rock skipping and no one is around to see it.

Oh man, divine. That sound of searching through legos. I remember getting up way past bedtime and building legos, and having to search tantalizingly slow so as to not make noise.

I built some awesome stuff. Hell I built a lot of cool stuff when I got older we never could afford when I was young. I have pretty much the entire 90s space range stored at a buddies house.

And probably 350k pieces on top of all the sets

First time I felt screwed over by a company.

The way this tasted…

The pure awesomeness of the K-Mart toy isles…

Being terrified the world was about to end in nuclear hellfire when in the middle of of TV Show, this suddenly came on the screen…

Going to McDonalds and getting the latest Star Wars collector glasses..

Going trick or treating looking like this…

Your mom getting a bunch of these at the grocery store…

Cokes in bottles like this…

And Big Macs in boxes like this…

Shelling peas at Grandmas on Saturday night with Hee Haw on tv.

I definitely remember this. I can't say it's one of my best memories though. Hated shelling peas. Hated Hee Haw.

It got worse. Lawrence Welk came on after Hee Haw and there were plenty of peas.

One thing, though:

I still have one that runs great. It’s a 1987 and looks just like that one.

I remember those Saturday nights. Hee-Haw was OK. But Lawrence Welk was torture to a kid.

Then after Lawrence Welk was Love Boat and Fantasy Island with the little guy that said Plane Boss, the Plane.

That’s what was on the TV Saturday nights when I would stay at my grandmothers house the night before church.

You watch too many movies. We played with it as kids and tried to conjure the dead. The piece answerd questions that kids would ask but I still can't tell you if someone was moving the piece or not. Still to this day haven't seen a ghost or demon and we played with it quite a bit. It's called BS.

I went without TV for six months to get the opportunity to buy $30 worth of He-Man shite. The triceratops was involved.

I was allowed to watch Superman or Superman II during that six months, and that's it. It had no influence on my decision to marry my ex, so it's worked out well.

I also busted the f@*$ out of my head while watching Peter Pan. I got driven to the emergency room and got more than five stitches in my forehead, with no Anesthetic, local or otherwise, as I watched the curved needle come towards my face. That was nice.

Oh, I nearly forgot about getting chemical, heat, and electrical burns on my hand at the same time during the Christmas holiday on base overseas. Peeling burnt skin off of my hand while soaking in a Hydrogen Peroxide bath is not great as a kid. But I'm also not a pussy.

Living room forts.

The TV that plugged into the cigarette lighter in the car for those long road trips, that in reality were like 30 minutes.

Getting excited when the bus driver would take the bus route home backyards. I was the last stop so everyone once in awhile I got to be first and that was AWESOME!

Watching certain animated movies that came on once a year. Several Christmas ones, several Charlie Brown.

Does anybody else remember Riki Tiki Tavi? (Sp?) It was about a colonial British family in (I suspect) India. There was a cobra in the garden and a mongoose (RTT) showed up to kill it and protect the children. Trying to remember the name of the snake without resorting to Wikipedia. Keep thinking Shere Khan but that’s the tiger in Jungle Book (another annual show). Loved them both.

Hot Wheels race tracks and Evil Kneivel wind up stunt bike. Stretch Armstrong. BMX bikes. Saturday morning cartoons. Lunch boxes featuring shows you liked.
