I'm not a parent, nor have I been to a movie in over 5 years, but I see a lot of complaints from parents of babies crying, kids talking, etc during a movie. So could theaters include this rule for other patrons?

Should.

Won't.

They should have a kids showing during the day at least.

They probably would if they found it economically profitable.

I'd feel like a better parent taking my kid to a bar than a movie. Just horribly rude.

I agree, but I bet they would keep more business by allowing young kids than they would gain by banning them.

This, but I'd clarify that it should be G-rated matinees, not just all matinees in general, or at least any G-rated movie that ends before 8-8:30pm. And anyone wanting to see such a movie at such a time should not expect quiet.

I would think all movies before 5pm would be acceptable... I mean if I am a parent bringing my kid to a movie at 5:30 I don't want a screaming kid.

Why not just incorporate some kind of crying room or something for showing kids movies? Why must all kids/parents be punished because some kids are not as calm as others?

2+ is old enough for a kid to remain quiet and interested in the movie on the screen. If you are attending s child's movie, some level of disruption is expected, but a crying/screaming child should be escorted out (crying room approach).

This! I have no problem with people bringing kids of any age to any move but the second they start acting up or whining they need to leave.

Just give them half of one of mommy's headache pills in a sprite.

They'll be quiet as church mice.

Kids under 5 shouldn't be allowed into any movie or restaurant (save for kid-designated locations such as Stevie B's).

at people complaining about little kids when it's the tweens and teens with their cell phones that ruin the movie going experience.

I would take a kid on his/her cell phone over a kid crying any day. Only way that would both me is if they had vine or right next to me.
