Started over bunch of twitter foolishness. Mandeville players saying St. Paul's football can't win a playoff game. Right after Mandeville lost in playoffs, St. Paul's kid tweets pic of scoreboard of St. Paul's/Mandeville game. Feelings get hurt, more smack and challenges issued then throw down. Sounds like some idiot showed up with a gun.

Actually what we heard would have been around 8, but the report says 9. Maybe just a delay/error on the report.

Shots were right at 8:30. I was at Cafe Lynn and heard the shots and saw the police cars fly by. Kids are beyond stupid for shooting it out over this BS.
8 to 10 shots.
ETA. I originally said 7:30 until I realized that was our reservation time. We had drinks and salad by the time I went out to take the call. It was 8:30 at that point.

Hands have been thrown for many a years over high school rivalries (not excusing it just saying). The problem is it only takes one idiot to show up with a gun. No doubt they need to find out who that kid is.

Back in the late 70s or very early 80s when they opened the new MHS, a couple of SPS guys spray painted a bunch of stupid stuff on the new MHS buildings. The two guys got kicked out of SPS and had to go to a (shudder) public high school. It was a problem for one guy who lived in the MHS district. He ended up going to some private school in/near Hammond.
I think this was the root cause of the shooting.

Wow... We were going home from a movie around that time and had a half dozen STPSO units fly past us, heading south on Hwy 59 towards Florida.
