Do they make shorter antennas for trucks/cars than the ones that are factory installed? The antenna on my truck hits in the parking garage at my work, but the truck has a decent amount of clearance.

Yes. Any auto parts store should carry them.

Stubby.

But as mentioned, it will get bad reception. I have one on my truck, I mostly stream and listen to satellite radio so it doesn't bother me too much.

I bought a shorter one for my jeep. The reception isn't as good but it looks a lot better and I don't have to worry about it hitting branches.

Search "stubby antenna" on amazon. You'll lose some power, but depending on where you live, you may or may not notice. With my factory antenna I could receive some HD channels from New Orleans, but after switching to a shorter one I could only receive the standard channels. I have no problem with the HD channels for 98.1.

You could always cut the one you have to the length you want and put the ball back on.

Had the same problem with my truck. Went to Autozone and bought a shorter antenna mast for about $15 and its worked as well as the factory one so far. Took about 30 seconds to unscrew the factory antenna and screw in the replacement.

I bought a Stubby on Amazon in January and have no degradation of signal quality in south MS.

Just bend existing antenna back and close it in passenger door.

Another vote for the Stubby. Works just fine.
