$0.75/gallon was consistently the difference when I was using off-road diesel. Gas, I dunno

Tax in an of itself is not bad. That being said it is like enabling an alcoholic or a person with a shopping addiction. Spending cuts will hurt everyone but it has to be level set at some point and will only get worse if left unchecked.

The State also needs to demand more out of it's employees. It is near impossible to fire anyone, productivity/efficiency transparency should go down to the rank and file.

It is a short term 365 day fix. Along with appropriate cuts, it could fix the current year budget problem. But, it goes away on day 366.

It looks a lot cheaper because there are usually very little to no excise taxes involved, and they split out the sales tax.
