What kind of dumbass goes home after running from the police?

Probably just wanted to buy time to ditch the drugs and illegal firearms that were in the car.

That's off Ardenwood between Florida and Choctaw. Why didn't he get it from the Walmart near Cortana?

Bet he gets a $20 bond set and is out by tomorrow.

Seems to be all the rage in the 19th JDC lately...

A 43 in TV at WalMart runs between $198 and $289. Seriously?

What dumbass uses their body to stop a car?

Seriously, they didn't need a high speed chase either for a stolen TV.

Get the plate, the cop has a description, WM is going to have video. Run the plate, have all the guys info, go get him at an alternate location and not risk any lives over a frickING TV.

DA isn't prosecuting anyway, they never prosecuted shite if they paid restitution, and rarely did if they didn't. I have been to court on trial day to testify the thief didn't show up and they just drop it... dog and pony show.

I think thieves should be punished but you don't need to get your dick hard and go on a high speed chase over a fricking TV.

a couple was shoplifting at Tanger years ago, took off, and was chased by police across the parish. They died in a head-on collision directly in front of my place of employment. It was a little disturbing and changed my opinion of police chases for petty crimes.

By and large, that segment of our society avoids college like the plague.

So has the College Dr store

I’d sue the city if my family was killed by a police chase. It’s stupid and pointless. There are cameras at every intersection, all over the interstate, phone pinging devices on most bill boards. They have the ability to know your every move from the time you leave your house. Hell they can map the inside of your house with Wi-Fi signals.
Unless they have a bomb or something, let them go. Who cares?

I saw the collision - PT Cruiser hit a white GMC 1500 nearly dead square - engine block of the get away cruiser slid another 40 or so ft after point of impact.

If memory serves APSO gave up the high speed portion of the chase after the PT Cruiser ran through the red light on LA73 wide open..

So many "the cops shouldn't chase people for a stolen TV" comments on the Just Baton Rouge post about this

Would you also sue the Police if they called off a chase and your kid was a kidnap victim in the car or the guy who they didn't try to stop T boned your wife a few blocks away?

It's a terrible situation but the police aren't the ones putting innocent people in it.

Oh and all those carjackings going on are the prelude to an armed robbery. Not everyone is as dumb as this guy and takes his own vehicle to the store he's about to try and steal a TV from.

This guy didn't even get the TV. He left it inside Walmart. A real amateur.

I was going down O'Neal when this took place. He flew through the turning lane without hitting the breaks as a line of us were at a red-light. I am surprised he didn't get into a wreck.
