I just watched his press conference and didn't ear him say anything like that. He said if someone is going 80 and endangering the lives of others when conditions make it safe to go 30 the driver will be stopped. Sounds reasonable to me.

Exactly. Hell, up here in northwest Arkansas we get that shite at least every other year, and we dont have near the resources for winter weather road conditions.

It is a concern because of the off ground roads/overpasses/bridges. They were ice rinks on Friday night and they expect more precipitation on Tuesday.

I knew a fella at LSU who was from Nebraska. We had an ice storm, and he had to go pick up someone at the airport. Errbody told him not to go, but he was all, "I'm from Nebraska, I know how to drive in this shite." He wrecked out on the elevated I-110

Non one is really prepared for ice. Not a whole lot you can do about it to make driving safer. It's more about the driver than the road crews.
Snow is a different story and is much much easier to deal with. Also, 28 degrees is the magic temperature where ice becomes easier to drive. Anything below 28 is easier than above.
