Selling cars for scrap

Had a breakdown on the causeway yesterday and it looks like my Cherokee is dead.
Anyone ever sold a car for scrap before? What's the process? Do you get enough money to make it worth it or should I just donate this thing?
Also, any companies recommended?
Tia

you will get at least $300 for the cherokee as it sits.
You may get more depending on the age and features of it.
If you put it on a trailer right now you could bring it to Pull a Part or Almonaster and get $400 or so for it.
If it runs but has upper engine issues you may get $700 for it.
