... Right near Blue Bayou. That's the biggest damn house I've seen in BR.

Gotta be 10000 sqft? How much are they throwing down for this monster?

Edited: Old Perkins instead of highland apparently...

It's been posted before, and I still think the old Pennington place dwarfs it.

What a waste--all that money for a house by Blue Bayou, basically in AP.

Just because it's called "Old Perkins" doesn't mean the place isn't littered with new money trash.

Are you really that status conscious and insecure?

My problem with the place is the hideous fricking ugliness of it. Destined to become a white elephant. Trashes up what is otherwise a fine row of houses/estates on that side of the road going toward Heard's estate.

He lives about a mile away at best in Ascension Parish already (Manchac Plantation). His name is Mark Dillon. He bought the lot from Walter Boasso.

I agree. It looks as though it is going to be one ugly arse house from the outside.

Nope. Just seems like a pain in the arse to get out there or back. You're far enough away to make it a hassle to do anything in town, but not far enough to be away from traffic, neighbors, and the chlorine smell of Blue Bayou.

ETA: anyone building a 17,000 square foot home is already very status conscious and insecure.

Sorry you haven't even made it to new money trash. Apparently you are just old trash.

And to above it is Pennington not Pendleton and he not only bought the lot from Bousso he bought the house plans as well.

But I agree it is pretty nasty looking and Steve Keller who is next door isn't too pleased.

The owner of the house is basically into "Waste Management" and its mostly government and quasi-government contracts.

Whatever architect drew the plans should be fired. It's fugly, and that stone crap on the front is completely out of place in S.Louisiana. Hell it would be hideous anywhere.

Anybody who drops that kind of change in Baton Rouge is an idiot.
