No where will have a decent base at the end of October. I won't venture up until December. Just because places are open that doesn't mean they have good riding. Bring your rock skis/board.

I'm used to skiing in the Midwest, on bases of 30" and less. I know some of the resorts in Colorado already have bases of 18"+ so I'll be happy if they can blow enough by the end of the month to get at least 25".

It'll probably be all man-made anyway at that time of the year so you're guaranteed powder every morning, as long as they can make snow overnight.

Nice.. Got mine for mammoth mountain, which includes 3 others. It also gets 50% off single day tickets at alta in Utah, aspen, Jackson hole Lake Tahoe and whistler.. If I can get there.

Crossing my fingers that El Niño comes through and Cali gets some snow...

Arapahoe will be your best bet for early season.

Thanks for the recommendation. Google Maps says about a 1.5 hour drive from Denver, that sound about right?

I get weekend/holiday passes for the kids and I. It's a bit less expensive and about the only times I can go skiing these days. They're less expensive if you buy before Oct. 7th

Yeah I'm thinking about getting a 3 pack ticket for Sierra at Tahoe. It's 59/day for 3 vs 89/day for one.

Correct.
Up I70 then take Loveland Pass over and across to A Basin.
They have one run open, manmade. Like others have said, might be best to wait till late November.....

Depends on traffic. I70 can be a mess at times and they are doing construction at the twin tunnels that can delay you an hour

I'll be buying my pass soon. Have had the Tahoe Local for 4 yrs then the Epic Local last year, but only went to Tahoe.

Hope to make my first trip to CO since '07 (Steamboat)
