There was a poster a while back who was incredibly knowledgeable about the whole situation. Apparently this Scott Rogers guy had some serious control over his "son-in-law" and the guy was essentially his slave. It was very, very strange...I wish I could find the old thread.

So I'm assuming he employed his son-in-law to carry out the act as to make it look like he was a victim, and had not calculated this crazy arse shite.

This has made-for-TV movie written all over it.
And Rogers was in the process of adopting 2 more boys - ages 10 and 2 - so, he was trying to set up the next generation, in all likelihood.

I think he was about to be investigated. He was trying to adopt two more kids and there were issues with the background check which would have led to his past life.

He was not a "news" personality.
He conned people into sponsoring a BS show that he sold (syndicated) to WAFB. Prior to this, he may have occasionally guest-hosted the actual WAFB weekend morning show(owned and produced by WAFB) but I don't think he was ever on any news staff for any station.
