Where does he say God exists? I think that's what people are pointing out. And when you see God. People on here automatically assume they are speaking of Christian beliefs.

When he's just saying a higher power may exist.

That's all, this is not ground breaking.

That's his first meditation. I think he proves God exists on his third, but I might be wrong. It's been awhile and I ain't googling some French fagot.

All right this mightbe the 10th time this has been pointed out in this thread, but some people are slower than others I guess. I'll bold the key words to help you along.

Misleading title.

quote:

Scientist says he found definitive proof that God exists.

Actual content of the article.

quote:

The theoretical physicist Michio Kaku claims to have developed a theory that might point to the existence of God.

I concluded this at the age of ten. To think otherwise is irrational.

This sounds familiar somehow, but there are those scientific based mindsets ready to debunk his theory.

"God" is overwhelmingly used for a singular deity, and more often than not, for the Christian god

to say otherwise is simply being obtuse

It's all in good fun.

I don't care what you believe. But you can't sit here and say, see, God does exist. Take that atheist.

It's almost as if Christians are just as insecure as the rest if not more.

yeah i'm just poking fun as well. I just like laughing at fanatical atheists because they embody so many things they supposedly abhor about organized religion.

ETA: I am shocked that this thread hasn't got anchored

The article put that in there and to be honest it's a piss poor word to use to describe his thinking here. He never described his findings as a "theory". In fact these words here....

quote:

To me it is clear that we exists in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”

And

quote:

I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence”,

... indicate that in his mind this is not a "theory" but rather a matter of fact. No scientist would use words like "To me it is clear" or "I have concluded" to describe something he views as still being only theoretical.

To think otherwise is the definition of rational.

Fortunately, that is not how the scientific process works.

His conclusions do not equal fact.

When I was in college (shortly before I met my wife), I mentioned to someone that I wouldn't settle down until I was at least 30 and fully believed it. When we started dating, there were about a dozen really eerie 'coincidences' over the course of a few months that made me believe that she was the one and it would be a long term relationship. Things that individually could be possibly 'by chance' but not collectively. Over the 15 years since then, I still believe there was more to it than just coincidence.

In Drew Brees' book after winning the Super Bowl, he alluded to similar coincidences with his wife although doubt his can compare to mine. The only other explanation with mine is the theory of false memories.

well since "tachyons" have never been proven or found, and these are the things that he bases his entire conclusion off of, I have no idea how he could be so definitive

True. And that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is in opinion, it is fact.

Bottom-line is that we all have a choice to either believe and have faith or Not to believe. But for those who choose not to believe, You had better be right. And the ones that do believe and try and live that life, if your wrong then you still led a good life. If nothing else the teachings of Jesus and his posse are most certainly a great design for living ,Spiritually.

But I guess we all should seek our own answer to that question of existence.

A person would have to be naive to believe that our fine tuned life on Earth is all by chance.

Those that believe don't need any proof.

Those that need proof will never truly believe.
