Looks like Kaku's theory just got shot down.

Where does he say God exists? I think that's what people are pointing out. And when you see God. People on here automatically assume they are speaking of Christian beliefs. When he's just saying a higher power may exist. That's all, this is not ground breaking.
That makes no sense whatsoever. Saying that a higher power exists but not god is like saying you have a Chevy Silverado but it's not a truck.

Bottom-line is that we all have a choice to either believe and have faith or Not to believe. But for those who choose not to believe, You had better be right. And the ones that do believe and try and live that life, if your wrong then you still led a good life. If nothing else the teachings of Jesus and his posse are most certainly a great design for living ,Spiritually.
Half the world doesn't believe this though.
People are still waging wars over organized religion.
This is just alluding to a higher power. Doesn't mean it's the God you grew up believing in.

"universal intelligence" could be aliens, a 4th dimensional being, etc

I concluded this at the age of ten. To think otherwise is irrational.
Nah man, it's all luck. No one can explain how the first matter came into existence without a creator...so it makes more sense that it just appeared via magic, then through a series of events less likely than winning the lottery 100 times in your life, the world was created, and we evolved from mud. Poof SCIENCE!

The theoretical physicist Michio Kaku claims to have developed a theory
The article put that in there and to be honest it's a piss poor word to use to describe his thinking here. He never described his findings as a "theory". In fact these words here....
quote:
“To me it is clear that we exists in a plan which is governed by rules that were created, shaped by a universal intelligence and not by chance.”
And
quote:
“I have concluded that we are in a world made by rules created by an intelligence”,
... indicate that in his mind this is not a "theory" but rather a matter of fact. No scientist would use words like "To me it is clear" or "I have concluded" to describe something he views as still being only theoretical.
So you don't understand science or even the vocabulary associated with science, got it.

According to who? I'm trying not to be an a-hole in here, but if the Christian god is "right" and I'm supposed to live my life according to the Bible, I'll pass.
I hear this argument a lot. What makes you think I'm not leading a good life? I think I'm leading a better life without religion. I believe that when I die, I'm simply organic material going back into the environment. If I believed I could simply accept an imaginary entity as my "savior" and enjoy eternal happiness, maybe I'm a little bit more of an a-hole.
I agree though, live your life, and I'll live mine. As long as you're happy with that, and can accept that I'm happy as well, we're all good.

an all knowing, omnipresent being that requires us to pray and worship it
Because that is the bullshite religious interpretation layered on top of the real thing. Religion is a system whereby man creates god in the image of man.

A person would have to be naive to believe that our fine tuned life on Earth is all by chance.
Of all the countless (literally, we can't count them all) galaxies, systems, and planets out there, it's impossible to think that life as we know it might have evolved by chance on this particular one?
Sure, the odds are unfathomably small, but look at it differently. What are the odds that you were both to your mother and father, at this point in Earth's existence, with the capability of rational thought? Pretty much 0% and 100% at the same time, because it did happen, right?

No, he's right but the point flew right over your head.
What he's saying is that belief in God (whoever that is to you) requires faith. And faith by definition is the belief in something that cannot be proven. And since there is no way for science to prove who God is, unless one has faith they will never believe in any god.

exactly. pharaohs/kings needed to be worship. A god would not care about an ant bowing down to it

You operating under the impression non believers aren't living good lives? I find myself having equal or better morals than many of my Christian friends.
I do it because I think it's right, without the promise of a reward or a punishment for eternity. They do it for the reward, drawing the implication that were it not for their religion they wouldn't act morally.
Is that really living a good life?
