BTW,The Comal River looked like toilet water.
I thought it was a clear river
Still had a bunch of tubers in it but it was a murky gray color with a bunch of weeds floating in it.

Saturday. The Last Saturday of Summer, probably the most crowded day of the year. The water coasters always have long lines. The old park with the black rubber tubes you have to carry is where it's at on a crowded day.

usually it's clear blue.

I tube the Tickfaw and Bogue Chitto so anything not brown is cleaner than I'm used to.

Waiting in lines is no way to spend a vacation. Screw that.

well it's hard to really judge the place if you didn't even go to half of it. You really should of, the old park has a lot to do and for a person that likes Lazy rivers, the fact that almost every ride is a float trip, I think it would have been more enjoyable.

It was dirtier than the Amite is right now.
I was shocked to see it so nasty because i've seen those Comal pictures before.

well Labor Day weekend.
That Sunday is a Saturday-lite to many with no work or school.

We've been to the Galveston park twice during peak weekends and have not had any problems getting to any of the attractions. Those attractions also happen to be very close to each other so you can take them all in much easier.
Believe me,i did not want the New Braunfels location to suck. It did in comparison to Galveston.

we went to the NB one last year while school was still in in Texas

only one park was open, but it was half price admission.....I'm not sure which park it was honestly, but the crowd wasn't too bad

there were some long lines but only on a couple of rides

I like how they let you bring in your own food and drinks, unfortunately we didnt know that and didnt bring an icechest

as a Texan who has gone numerous times throughout my life.... mostly good advice here.

First off, Texas kids are in school as of last week and you shouldn't have as many teenagers there, even though it's the weekend.
Weekdays are better, but not always possible.

If rides are a priority for you: Get to whichever park you want to start with about 30 minutes before the park opens and get in line. establish where you're leaving the cooler and take off and get as many rides in as possible. lazy river, wave pools, and the open swim areas all will be open all day at both parks and you won't have any trouble getting in there. ignore that crap and get to what you want to ride first.

honestly, i'd start at the old park, get the rides there and maybe not mess with lazy river or the big open river water pool that the soda straws feed into later. to me, i don't even mess with the 3 rides in the center of the wave pool at the new park. we like the 30 minute lazy river ride and wave pool more than anything.

my kids can last hours in the 2 wave pools or pirate ship at the new park so we try to do rides first, then let them hit that after lunch.

good luck.

I haven't been to the Galveston or the South Padre parks yet. I have family in Austin and San Antonio so Schlitterbahn was always something that was on the way off of 35.

We stopped going to this waterpark after a few years of crappy experiences. Got tired of dealing with white trash and having to shield our kids eyes from all the mexicans making out and possibly having sex in the pools and lazy rivers.
