I was always told that it had more children kidnapped there than any other mall. It was because of the I-20 on ramp right by the mall. Any truth to this or just a Monroe urban legend?

I'm going with urban legend. No locals ever flipped out about kidnapping nor were any ever reported on local news.

All existing malls passing certain minimal criteria should be placed on the historic registry and preserved. A damn shame how so many have died out.

I bought a Greg Jefferies Mets Rookie card at that stand. I only remember that because $5 was a lot for 8 year old me to spend on a card.

I believe Cardco was the name of the card shop that was a kiosk.

Solid list… just off the top of my head:

Little Mermaid
Home Alone
Rocketeer
Hook
My Girl
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Forrest Gump
…. Lots more.

The Pecanland Mall was a fine place to hang out back in the day.

If it was a kiosk, my friend’s owned that. They’d give me good bundle deals. I had a few hundred comics in the 90’s. I still have a bunch in boxes that I have nothing to do with.

I don’t think I ever went to the mall without stopping here. When they moved to 18th, I used to ride my bike there almost every day during the summer.

This one opened after the one in the kiosk moved over to 18th.
