I have acquired a several sponsor tickets last minute to a charity banquet this weekend. The place where i go during the day to post on Tigerdroppings purchased a sponsorship table and not a single person has claimed a ticket.

The event will have catered food, entertainment, and most importantly an open bar.

Would it be wrong or trashy of me to sell (at a discount i might add) tickets to the event either at the door or thru a local craigslist ad?

Assuming i can even sell any of them, i don't stand to make a lot of money, but would be enough for say a night at a mid grade hotel at a mid grade beach.

I dont think there is anything necessarily wrong with asking for money in trade for something you have at its root. The one thing I would be concerned about if I was buying tickets for a charity event is I expect a donation credit, in your case they cant really get it

You're not new here. You know the rules.

Everything is trashy.

You know... you are going to have a bunch of randoms sitting at a table for your company that probably has a sign in the middle of it proclaiming "Table sponsored by (your job)"

Somebody is going to act like an arse.

Your boss is going to say "Hey, who'd we give all those tickets to?"

Not the worth the extra hunny or whatever you pull off the deal.

Sure. Go for it.
