Part of the boat chase scene from 1973’s 007 thriller “Live and Let Die” was filmed in Bayou Bonfouca in Slidell.

I was born there and lived there until 1989. I remember coming back like 3 years later and people saying how much change for the worse there has been. Was also the last time I remember shopping at a Kmart in the south. Thought they had gone extinct before visiting Delaware a few years ago.

Got a lot of family in that eden isles area. Very nice in there and access to the water out your backyard to the lake is pimp. Also in that indian village area are houses with access to the swamps with some badass houses. The only downside in slidell is the drug scene, specifically meth, but the police seem to be cleaning that up well. One thing i noticed was at the parades, there were a lot of confederate flags, but all races seemed to coexist fine.

I went there about 12 years ago.

Two things.

You couldn't touch the strippers, which means you couldn't put tips in their garters. So what you did is you threw the bills on stage.

You ended up getting two shows for the price of one. After they finished dancing, they crawled around on all fours picking up their money or they kept bending over in your face to pick it up.

And secondly. The best looking stripper they had wore eye glasses.

Good stuff.

New Racetrac on Fremaux (just off the exit) has ethanol free gas. Easy stop to fill up the boat on the way to Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Great place to live. Gets way too much hate.

Very conservative politically. Good access to some of the world's best fishing and beaches and LSU.
