re: San Francisco homeless stats soar: city blames big business, residents blame officials

DFW as well although its mostly in FW from what i've seen.
The DART in Dallas is a cesspool of culcha and homeless most of the time. There's a reason it only goes so far up the east side of Plano and doesn't even attempt to follow the DNT route into west Plano/Frisco.
As for SF, it really is sad. It's mainly confined to the FiDi and Soma, concentrated in touristy areas, but it's still a shame. Get out to the more local areas and they're gone for the most part. Still some, but they aren't the aggressive, insane ones.
Saw a guy on Saturday running through Soma butt naked and then shite on the street. He looked 25 so I did consider the possibility of a bad acid trip, but it was gross.
Hopefully more of the residents try to change policies instead of just leaving. Nothing will change if people just leave.

Just think how bad Baton Rouge would be if the average rent was $4,200 a month.

The liberals in this thread trying to pretend that homeless poop on the streets is no big deal
I’m not making it a liberal conservative thing but last week somebody posted a picture of the homeless and someone else defending SF said “yeah, one picture doesn’t represent the whole city.”
So I posted a dozen pictures and he said that doesn’t make a point.
Also of humorous note, their governor recently said that their homeless problem was because of Texas not taking care of them.... with no basis or facts on his side.

Imagine what SF was like in 1965 . Or LA . Absolute heaven. Now, the negatives are overwhelming. It wears you out being there, the way the dysfunction is entrenched. And it’s juxtaposed against all the incredible Tech and Entertainment wealth-it just has the stench of a failing society. Incredible wealth and then a vast serf underclass. I go to third world Asian countries and I feel depressed when I fly back to California whereas 25 years ago it was pretty awesome. California basically committed suicide via Progressive politics, immigration, etc.

Place is a sewer. I was out there last summer and while it does have some beauty, the people are strange as hell and the stuff outlined in the article is correct. The entire state of CA is going this way and the citizens should blame themselves and their state/local governments.

This. Bitch, stay in SF. Texas doesn't want you. You'll just bring the same dumb-assery to the rest of the country that has ruined SF and is making you want to move.

Nashville has non profits that relocate homeless to the Bay Area and other west coast locales.
I would contribute to a local fund for one way tix for our bums to see the city by the bay

Abbot has already threatened to override it on a state level.
I hope and pray that he does. The city council has basically given the homeless the green light to trash the city.
There is a plan to move the ARCH (homeless shelter) out of downtown and over to far east Austin. I'm curious to see if it really happens.

Killing me with that word smh
But I noticed the same even in Oakland downtown. But what can anyone really do? There are homeless shelters but they either fill up or people dont want to go.
Here in FW I see the same few and its crazy because the area I live in is pretty nice (Ridglea). Every time i go to chipotle there's some homeless lady walking around with literally ALL OF HER SHITE. A guy on the same corner asking for change. Another downtown yelling at people....idk

At one point I felt bad for them, but so may resort to breaking into cars and petty theft that I know see them as disgusting, pathetic excuses for human beings.

A Democrat paradise.
Democrat places are cities where there are super rich and super poor people living next to each other. San Francisco is a true example.
It wasn’t this bad when the Terminator was the governor. It got worse under Jerry Brown starting from 2011. Add the whole LGBTQ movement, Tech companies buying out land and property causing price increase, and other cities bussing their homeless in, and you get San Francisco of 2019.

This is kind of a weak argument. You can buy a reusable bag for a dollar.

The problem is they have money, but acquired it in a fairly effortless manner. and at a relatively young age That tends to lead people to become more progressive-liberal. They just can't fathom that times could ever be hard. People who have had to work hard over many years and save to acquire wealth have a totally different perspective on it. Those CA tech people live in a totally different universe.
