I will soon be moving to San Diego and have been actively looking for a job for a few months now. Only received a couple hits and after interviewing I found those jobs just weren't for me. Anyone know of good companies to work for out there? I know there are quite a few fortune 500 companies but would like to start at a smaller company. I'm currently working for a Fortune 500 and can't take the politics anymore(could just be south LA). Any help would be appreciated.

Are you an LSU alum? Contact the LSU placement office and see if they have any contacts in the San Diego area. Also, contact the local alumni association and let them know what you are looking for.

Good luck!!

Congrats. I lived in La Jolla. Let me give you some advice, I would not move out there unless you have a ton of money saved or have a job lined up.

That said, try Sempra Energy. Great company.

"Soon" is a very relative term in this situation unless you enjoy the thrill of being homeless and broke.

So you're quitting your job to move to an expensive arse city with no job for you and plan on paying for an MBA as well? Makes perfect sense.

Currently in oil/gas but want out of that industry. I'm open to any other industries.

I'm quitting due to the fact I now despise the company I work for and the city I currently live. An MBA is only 10-15K online nowadays so it doesn't break the bank. Also, I have a sister currently living in PB a few blocks from the beach who I can stay with for a few months.

Okay that might be worth putting into the OP so people aren't assuming you're going to be homeless and having to barter a poke at your own b-hole for half a slice of week-old dominoes pizza.

At least $5k a month for a couple years?

I can't tell you how many people move out there like you and return home broke because they couldn't find a job or it didn't pay enough.
