Thyroid disease has damaged my optic nerve and I recently became unable to see purple (red is the color most affected by Graves disease damage and the red has been removed from the purple turning it blue).

It is kind of sad to see LSU purple and gold as blue and gold.

According to my neuro-op, as the ability to see purple declined, my brain would still process the color as purple because it knew that LSU colors were purple and gold. One day, I said to myself "Why are the LSU colors blue?"

I wonder if hypnosis would fix it back where the brain would still process it as purple.

True, but I don't think TD purple is very blue.

Purple is a tacky arse color anyway. Enjoy the blue.

Red.

This may gradually change. If I take my thyroid, my eyes start screwing up. If I don't, I'll be fat and croak from some obesity related issue.

It is really a tedious process to move my eyes to the right and tall objects seem to lean to the left about 3 to 5 degrees.

Did it happen quickly or one day you just realized that you could no longer see purple? It's crazy how the human brain works

Nope but that's purple as hell to me. I'll admit that the "gold" is canary yellow though

I noticed it one day, but the deterioration didn't happen quickly. The brain was "covering", so to speak.

There is something about passing an 18 wheeler on the Interstate when the trailer appears to be leaning to the left.
