Most marathon/half marathon training has kicked off, but the cool weather this weekend really got me fired up and got my best run in yet with comfort from the heat/humidity. Training for the Chevron Houston Marathon in January! Hoping for somewhere between 3:45 and 4:00.

OT runners: what are you training for? When? Goal?

I'm registered for the OLOL Half Marathon in November so it's either that or River Roux 70.3.

I did Ironman Chattanooga last week and my ankle it still sore so I'm going to wait and see how that foes for the next couple of weeks.

Make sure you do some training on concrete. Alot of that course is on concrete and it's been known to eat people alive who have done all/most of their long runs on asphalt, dirt, etc.

New York Marathon. Did an Ironman in August and have basically done nothing but sit on my arse and eat since so not in great shape/over race weight. Just going to have fun.

I've heard the same. I usually run sidewalks or the hike and bike trails around town that are all concrete. I'm just hoping I don't twist an ankle on a pothole once I get on the street.

This is something I've been thinking about, lately. I finished 2 rounds of Insanity Max 30 and decided to change things up a bit and start running, instead. I'm doing a 5k 5 nights a week right now. Should I be shooting for a 10k or something?

ATL Thanksgiving half. Will be my 4th half. Two Rock & Roll runs in Vegas and a trail run here in Georgia.

If I stay with my wife who is running her first, then the goal is just to finish with her.

If she ends up running with someone else or we don't run together, my goal is 1:55:00. Ideally, I'd like to do it in 1:50:00.

That would be a pretty solid time. How have you worked up to this? I'm pretty beginner-level right now.

A haunted hilly 5k. It's only a 5k, but it's up and down fricking mountains at 4am on Halloween morning. the last two years it was 20 degrees up here on Halloween. Race is a nightmare.
