The chick from Taken should have been prominently featured in that commercial.

How can you possibly say right now that it was ineffective?

I swear to God, when I saw that commercial I knew there would be some fricking belly aching on this board. Some of you guys are such an easy mark.

Yeah. The TD demographic isn't that hard to predict.

Because about an hour from now, tomorrow, and thereafter, almost no one will remember much about it. By the way, I do appreciate the message it was trying to convey.

I'm willing to bet that commercial gets plenty of attention for a while.

You know why? Because the media makes them feel feel inadequate. Because if you're not pretty and skinny and look like and have a life like those Disney Channel teen princesses, you're not good enough. So buy our products!
There are also these things called hormones that are causing significant changes physically and emotionally. Not to mention, puberty happens around junior high, when physical and social/emotional development are not in sync, and students are getting increased responsibility and demands.

Self-esteem will probably drop during this time even if the media didn't exist. But let's forget the concrete impact and focus on the abstract (i.e., the media); I'm just surprised you didn't blame ESPN. I guess Disney is close though since they are owned by the same company. Besides, of all the media outlets to blame, Disney should be quite a bit down the list.

That was a really powerful commercial. I enjoyed it.

Having a 7 year old, I understand it. Middle school is usually when they get brainwashed.

It's just a hard time for boys and girls. Puberty and poorly developed frontal lobes is just not a good combination.

Telling a dude he runs like a girl does not insult girls.

Simple to understand.

I Figure these girl commercials piss the rednecks off some kind of bad. Good enough for me.

Don't you get it? These guys in this thread are man enough to pretend to enjoy it, even though the commercial was totally misguided in its message (ie, implying that "you play ball like a girl" has anything to do with females struggling with image/confidence in adolescence).

When I saw those girls running and shite, the expression was confirmed

And when you consider that of all the girls they filmed, those examples were the ones they deemed most "macho." It makes the ad all the more insulting to girls

You are just a misogynistic redneck. I bet you don't have daughters.
