River ranch being overcrowded isn't a bad thing. It keeps urban sprawl from getting ridiculous. If everyone wants their own house with a big yard the place will start to become a houston suburb situation

For myself. My mom is looking for another rental, but I dunno if a McMansion is one she'd be interested in owning to rent.

Gotcha. Stouts way is definitely the fastest way to learn of new properties but realtors can set you up for just foreclosures notifications and you're notified as soon as they hit the market (or soon as they get on MLS).

My wife has a few clients that she's looking for foreclosures only on

Shoot me an email at theboosiestbadazz at gmail when you get a chance.

I'm a little ways away from needing a realtor, but I'm probably gonna hit your wife up to get on that email list.

I admit there are some gaudy, tacky places in River Ranch. However, there also are some badass spreads, too.

West Bayou has that old antebellum estate feel to it. I could get down with either one really.

good god, frick no

like seriously, frick NO.

and the woodlands is in the process of getting MUCH more wealthy with exxon and others making their way down there, and then Anadarko is already there with their twin towers.

My favorite area around Laffy is Abbeville.

I just like the old town and I think it has some pretty places around Abbeville.

I know it's not an option for you but I just always thought it was a cool old town.

Abbeville is a cool spot, but I think Breaux Bridge is my favorite little town around Lafayette. Both have that antebellum feel to them, but I find Breaux Bridge has more things to do and is a little more visitor-friendly.

I had never been to Abbeville until about 5 years ago when I passed through to go to the old Hanes (or is it Fruit of the Loom?) factory. There was a business there I was working with and ever since then I always thought it was one of the better looking older towns in the state.

Of course Natchitoches and False River come to mind as well.

Lately though, you cant wander around too much. For such a small old town - there is a high crime rate in certain areas(drugs)and at least 5 to 10 murders a year (minority killing minority - drug related.
