Dang RIP. Does that mean Jaimoe is the only surviving member from their original lineup?

Walk along the river, sweet lullaby
It just keep on flowing
They don't worry 'bout where it's goin', no, no

Don't fly mister blue bird
I'm just walking down the road
Early morning sunshine tell me all I need to know

You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day
Lord, you know it makes me high
When you turn your love my way
Turn your love my way, yeah, yeah

Good ol' Sunday morning bells are ringing everywhere
Goin' to Carolina, it won't be long and I'll be there

You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day
Lord, you know it makes me high
When you turn your love my way
Turn your love my way, yeah, yeah

Songwriter: Richard Betts

Jessica was always my favorite Allman Brothers tune. Of course written by Dickey...

Had 0 idea what the band members’ names are other than Allman

Dickey was a founding member. He was the writer and lead singer of Ramblin' Man. He wrote Jessica, as well.

blue sky, liz reed, southbound as well

Creatively he pretty much took over the band after Daune died.

Not known to be the easiest to work with but the dude could shred and wrote a lot of my favorite music.

If you don't know who Dickie Betts is you should spend several hours listening to 'Jessica' by Allman Brothers Band this afternoon. If you do know who Dickie Betts is, you already know that you should do this.

Taking all factors into account he probably outlived his life expectancy by a good 35-40 years

Same, and more could be said about Keith Richards. How that guy has lived as long as he has is mindboggling to me.
