I’ll see you around, around my hometown.

RIP to an absolute legend. I know he might not be as big in other places as he is in south texas but he is one of the GOATs IMO. His ex wife is a Dixie chick and he lived half a mile from me. Son went to the same high school I did (he is younger though). He retired for a couple years but he came back about a year ago and luckily got to see him one time before he died.

No way he could have afforded the extra shots. He spent all his money on caviar and cocaine.

Charlie is one of four or five of the late 90s early 00s Texas country guys that were the absolute soundtrack to my college years.

He was always under appreciated. I think the first time I ever heard of him was on a random live album with Jack Ingram.

I saw Charlie a bunch of times but the time that sticks out the most was a midnight CD release at Hastings in College Station. I think it was the Good Times album. He hung afterwards and signed stuff and just bullshitted.

RIP. Love the wedding song

quote:

Well, you are still here And I am still here
Whether I ever loved you is Not perfectly clear
You went a semester to West Texas State
But the freshmen fifteen you gained Killed all your dates
I guess I still love you if I ever did
And I can see myself having a couple of kids And we will get by For the rest of our lives

I vote you as the poster most needing a huggy wuggy right now.

I’ll say a prayer this evening you find peace and a few Jaegermeister shots to quell the tide of emotions you’re feeling.

Lol thanks.

Sorry about the over emotional posting. Just always loved this guy and have tons of great memories surrounding his music.

Sorry to see that. I saw him years ago when he opened for Junior Brown, he was really good.
