They're just increasing the land value for homes they rent out in St. George.

What’s the average household income in St George? I doubt it’s much higher than $120k. Not exactly the super elite.

Where did you move to where you don't have to live in the suburbs for a good public education?

I moved to the suburbs in Houston but there were more factors than just schools. Better job market (when I was working) and economy.

The schools in just about every suburb of Houston are better than Denham Springs, Walker, or Gonzales.

I have a little bit more freedom now since I am self-employed, but I still choose to send my kids to public school.

I don’t mind the national messaging being this to be honest. I hope it is. Because while I agree with most of your points, I feel like this is a step more towards Scott Adams’ approach of “my advice to white people, just get the frick away.” It’s not so simplistic as to “rich white people moving away” but it’s definitely in the same family.

I think all the anti-white shite and the all-black dorms, student commons, “black-owned businesses”, prioritizing government funding to “communities of color”, Juneteenth… and when white people would complain about that, the message was, “suck it, what are you gonna do about it”?

Now, my message would be the same. You don’t like that some rich white people wanted to break off? Suck it. What are you gonna do about it?

They think they’re the only ones capable of banding together. Hope more of this happens. Honestly I think it’s inevitable.

If this isn't an el Gaucho level troll, please consider deleting.

It may not have been in the city limits of Baton Rouge but it was definitely part of the Baton Rouge community.

This is literally the point of the whole thing.

quote:

If St. George was a community and never part of BR then how come mailing address has always been and still is Baton Rouge.

Do you even zip code?

quote:

This whole thing started when Bodi White failed to establish "Southeast Baton Rouge Community School System".

ALL the SG people wanted was an independent school system. The original plan wasn't to create a city.

quote:

St. George is named after a fire department. Prior to 2015 (or whenever the original petition started) No one had ever heard of St George.

quote:

The true failure in all of this is falls upon the Baton Rouge mayors for not extending city limits as they invested in the growth of SE Baton Rouge in the '80s and 90's.

Pretty sure there was no intent to ever include our little cash cow. It's why they're fighting it with such gusto.

The area OUTSIDE of the city limits has to request annexation, not the opposite.

The average is probably a good bit higher and is thrown off by some big $ in Old Jefferson, CCLA, UClub, and some of those neighborhoods down Hoo Shoo Too.

YEAH WHY DOESN'T THE POST OFFICE RECOGNIZE THIS PLACE!!

I guess you didn't realize that historically most communities were named when they started to receive mail service or a post office. St George skipped the community phase and will go straight to being the 5th largest city in state.

It's liberals, what do you except?

They have the worse track record on policy since Marxism became a thing. They can't win unless they divide by race and class.

Please demonstrate that I don't what I'm talking about by linking any article or reference to the town or City of St George prior to Lionel Rainey and Bodi White starting the Petition.

In a radio interview Lionel Rainey said they chose the name St George because the one thing they have in common is the St George Fire Department. This quote was in reference to the original proposed boundaries.

My favorite is the image being shared comparing a nice house, probably University Club, to the Alton Sterling store.

The irony is that I moved to the St. George area in 2009 because the houses were CHEAPER that the equivalent in Baton Rouge.

Its the victim mentality... they don't like something and can't accept fault so they make up whatever truths they want. Trying to get them to understand anything different is a waste of time, i.e. there is no pleasing these people.
