Can’t think of anything more frustrating than being forced to changed my password every x amount of months. All my accounts are a variation of the same, and then one douchebag IT cuck comes along and says its too close in resemblance to my old one. Has to be the most infuriating thing in the workplace

That IT "cuck" is protecting you from allowing a virus to take down your entire network.

We do it every 90 days. When I first started, I had a secure password. Nowadays it’s “randomword123” because it’s easy to remember.

Which is the exact reason constantly changing passwords is fricking idiotic and not secure.

If anything's going to take down a network it's some boomer clicking on a phishing email, not because I didn't change my password every 60 days

Pisses me off so much

The password requirements are insane. No words allowed and it can’t be too close to the old password

Last time I had to change it I forgot the new password and it was a pain in the arse to get access back to my laptop

Believe it or not, there are multiple ways for your system to be compromised.

I save my passwords in my phone. It takes me less than a minute to change a password and then enter it in my phone.

Lol.

Constantly changing passwords always means people choose ones that are easy to remember. It always turns out to be much less secure than just keeping the same one or changing much less frequently.

You are the reason why they have to change.

I actually think they should not have to change but me more complex.

Also think 2FA should be mandatory

I have to change my work password every 6 months. Problem is that my laptop password also carries over to my phone. So imagine typing out a password that has become so long and convoluted on a phone pad.

Remember how we used to text (press the number 3 seven times to get a "3")? Yeah... it requires me to press the phone pad over 200 times each and every day to login to my phone. And every time it changes I have to get used to doing something completely different.

So yep, I hate this requirement too.

What are you basing this on? I thought you just restock shelves at Whole Foods?
