I'll save you some time and take care of the joke myself. Now that that's out of the way, my parents are getting to that age. I'm looking for something they can call for help on if needed and also that senses falls. There are a lot of providers out there and they all seem pretty similar. Acadian has a system but I don[t know whether being local provides an advantage or not. Thanks in advance .

You need a referral to a good urologist?

My experience:
They won’t wear it when they should. They won’t change / charge batteries.

I believe someone told me that Apple Watches have this feature. I don't know if it's true because I never looked into it.

Acadian sends an ambulance whenever the button is pushed.

My buddy bought his elderly father in law an Apple Watch that sends alerts if it detects a fall.

Pro tip :
Bypass all the services and find a good security company near them. The good ones offer same, but when you press the button it goes direct to closet EMT. Time is life, and the clock is running. 2 min is good, after 8 they are in trouble.
Study this
EMT to parents to best hospital. Good hospital means you an be dead 1/2 hour and come back. Bad EMT takes 6 min to 12 min just to reach them.

My dad falls all the time. Usually because he’s drunk so it’s ok

We had this issue with my grandparents
Not sure what company it was but alert was on a necklace & was bulky
Also the monthly tests (they call & have them hit button) was always an issue

Just went through this with my father. I went with Life Alert and purchased it through Costco.
Long store short, my dad fell twice in the past 2 months. First time it did not detect a fall. Thankfully he pushed the button, but was on the floor for an hour or so before pushing the button.
Second time he fell, the life alert did not work. No fall detection, and he pressed the button but it didn't work as well. My sister found my dad about 10 hours after he fell. The EMS tried to use the device and it didn't work for them.
Finally after going rounds and rounds with Medical Gaurdian, it wad determined the unit was defective. They offered no charge for a month and a 10 discount for the next twelve months.
We returned the device to MG and canceled the service since we had to put my dad in an assisted living facility due to a compression fracture in his back when he fell the second time.
I would personally not use Medical Guardian.

Sad to hear about your dad. The problem with most of these systems sold nationally is the flow through.
Person to Life Alert to local care
Why I suggested eliminating the "middleman"
Did this through local private security firm, now it goes Person to local care
Time is a VERY key issue!

What insurance coverage do they have? There are quite a few medicare supplements and MAOs that provide them to their members (including the monitoring).

Do you know what plan by any chance? I can try to look at their benefits from the Vantage website but would need their specific plan name.

I think we had the one through Acadian for my Mom for a while. She didn't like the necklace. She would put it on the seat of her walker rather than wearing it. At the time, she was still able to drive, but she would leave it at home. After she couldn't drive, she still wouldn't wear it when she should have. She fell using her walker and there was no alert because the walker didn't fall and the necklace was on the seat. We did use it when we had to call for an ambulance once.
We finally got rid of it and got live in sitters. Costly, but safer and we have more peace of mind.
My cousin had the same thing. It was convenient to be able to get into his apartment with key in the combo lock outside, but he also didn't bring it with him when he would get in the car to go somewhere. He also fell at some point and didn't have it with him.
Both had some false alarms on occasion.
So, one key to these things is that wearer must actually use it properly.
