The timing involved with Mickey's going missing and him asking for help finding out about that pile of shite was pretty amazing. That was truly an awesome thread to follow.

I remember I was dating a chick at the time who was obsessed with the case and the fact that she was missing. She was afraid there was a serial killer on the lose.

Do you actually think that he doesn't know the proper spelling/usage of the words lose and loose? Or is it maybe that he was typing on a phone??? a-hole

Dude was dating the poster's wife's sister and the family could tell he was hiding something and wanted to do a criminal background check. Around the same time, she went missing and the 2 threads, one about him asking for help because dude was creepy and the one about Mickey going missing intersected. IIRC they had to delete a bunch of posts right around the time they were about to arrest him. It's still hard to believe how it went down IRL and on the OT at the same time.

I remember and I remember how much Chris and PJ hijacked the thread. Chris has been banned ever since.

Was there ever any more news on Lavergne, or was it mostly just rumor? I thought he was suspected in several other murders?

The IRL version was pretty crazy. Walked on eggshells for 2 months. Try having him show up at father's day when we know he's a murderer but we literally cannot say anything.

There was a poster who presented himself as working for the DA or having some kind of inside connection to the DA's office. Probably a janitor...
He was your typical bullshite artist and attention whore. He'd drop these vague, yet tantalizing comments, but never follow up. I think he alluded to "more bodies" and more charges. I'm almost positive he said that LE had recovered a stack of DLs belonging to missing women from BSL's trailer.

On the other hand, Laverne is a fricking psycho. It's kind of hard to believe he only killed two women.

Mickey Schunick made sure this case got solved by fighting for her life. If she hadn't fricked up BSL, he would have gotten away with it.

I can't even imagine how messed up that was. I feel sorry for any dudes your SIL tried to date after that. The family probably put any guys through a rigorous Q&A.

Well I would hope so, if she couldnt distiguish the difference between a lunatic serial killer white trash POS and a perfectly non-white trash normal guy. I know serial killers are many times sociopathic but man, it would seem that she would pick up on some strange tendencies after about what, maybe 10 mins of knowing the guy? I mean didnt the brother figure out the guy was obviously creepy enough to investigate his background? How could the sister not pick up on that?

I can't believe it has been 3 years already. That story was so sad. The thread was incredible. It was thanks to the community and Adam that her body was found and that BSL was caught. Her family did a great job of getting the word out and the community involved.

Poor Mickey. RIP.

I actually had to make a visit to the platform that he worked at a few months after he was arrested. The guys offshore didn't tell me he worked with them until after I was sitting in the frickers old chair at his old desk. Freaked me the frick out.
They said when it was all over the news, they remember sitting around at breakfast all talking about it and the Brandon guy just sat there not saying a word. Just kept on eating his breakfast starring at the news report. They said it was weird at the time but they didn't put two & two together.
