I, nor my family, are dependent upon any government funded programs as of yet. I save for retirement, I save for college, etc. this is a ploy to raise taxes, which was going to happen no matter what was going on in the economy

Gas prices have always been reasonable. They're reasonable now and they were reasonable at $4.00. That is how supply/demand works.

The relatively cheap gas you are pumping now is a direct result of the high prices coming out of 2010.

rocket, you've been abused in these threads in the past. If you cannot understand how the price of oil has a significant effect on the budget of the state of LA I don't know what to tell you.

State sales taxes, income taxes, and revenue directly from oil are declining drastically. It is much bigger than a "few thousand" layoffs and you know it.

Live in Texas and have no kids.

I'll keep filling my truck up for $25 and laughing at the oil field baws, truck nuts or not.
