Had Timberland Earthkeepers for years. Looking for another pair but ran across Red Wing. Anyone own a pair of these 1907s, and are they well worth the money ($275.00) ? About $100.00 more than the China made Timberlands. If so I'd gladly buy the American made product.

Yes they are the best boots I've ever owned. They are building a nice patina

I don't have those but I've tried a few other brands and I'm sold on Red Wing.

They are worth the money. Most stores will oil and change the laces free of charge after a year or so. I have the 2406.

No but I plan on owning a pair of these very soon. Anything made by Red Wing is very high quality.

I prefer the Red Wing Iron Rangers to those moc toe's, but still like the moc toe's alot.

I wouldnt wear anything because a celebrity wears them. If anything, that would make me hesitant to wear something. I would wear them because I like them.

Do you have a Red Wing store by you? I take mine in to get cleaned/waterpoofed once a month at the store by me.

They will clean them, oil them, waterproof them, replace the laces and/or replace the eyelets for the life of the boot. Also you can pay to get them re-soled because the upper part of the boot will likely outlive the sole.

They look better after a coat of mink oil (darkened the leather) and then as the soles get dirty and become a more cream rather than white.

Also, if you don't wear they with skinny/rolled jeans they don't look as clunky and hipstery

Thanks for all the responses. I checked out the Danner and Thorogood boots recommended on their sites, just wish I could try them. I going to go to the Red Wing store in Lafayette tomorrow and try them on.

18, thanks for the heads up on the maintenance it may just be worth $100 more to bring them in every year, especially if I get a decade out of them.

Thanks again for all the serious responses.

If you want actual high quality boots (sans white sole) that look like that, try White's then Nick's

Check out the Thorogoods. Much cheaper while keeping the same quality.

I think union boot store has a deal where you order two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit on Thorogoods

I'll vouch for the iron rangers. Red wing makes a good boot. Wear all day long and still feel comfortable. And as someone else said, they oil and clean for life at the stores.

That's about when I bought mine. Still holding up well, had them resoled through red wing once. I don't work construction and haven't worked a blue collar job in quite a while. My two pairs should last me the rest of my life.
