This is sort of a spinoff from the "Does anyone love Baton Rouge" thread, but I've been thinking about it for a while.

Let's say you have an acquaintance who has never been to BR. They are coming into town for 3 days. Let's say it would be in the middle of July to avoid the "Tiger stadium for a game" BS. Where would be some places you would take them within the BR metro area that you think would impress them. Assume this person lives in a comparable sized city.

If you can wait a couple years, there will be a brand new library to visit.

Going to the top of the capitol building is nice. Otherwise, I’ve got nothing. There are things to do, but they aren’t particularly impressive.

New library downtown

Could take them to any gas station to soak in the local homeless.

Uh...fred’s free drinks? At least the old fred’s free drinks. $10 all you can drink top shelf from 8-10 was magical.

Any street named after a president. They'll be impressed with how quick you can get robbed

The mayor's office.

After that, they'll be impressed that the city hasn't burned to the ground.

Tour of the state capitol grounds, the arsenal, the old state capitol, etc.

LSU is still a "tourable" place - the LSU sports museum, Mike's habitat, Shaq's statue, Memorial Tower, and it will be less crowded during the summer. Although with all the fricking gates and stuff, it's a bear to try to get around campus these days (at least it was last time I was there.)

Have them stay at the Watermark, go to drinks/dinner at Tsunami, Go over to Tin Roof brewery, Rum House or Superior Grill for some sight seeing during happy hour
