Whatup! Got the same myself. Any idea what firmware you are running? I am running 3.892 I believe.
I have started to tune mine since I don't daily travel LA 190 anymore. When I did, I left all bands all the way wide open. Saved me a few times. They could've made a commercial out of how it saved my nearing Port Allen one morning. Was flashing two ahead, crossed a Suburban staking out in the median...then I have top and bottom arrows lit up and come up to another Suburban just under a mile up the road.
I live it the city of Chattanooga now and roads I travel are worlds away from LA 190. I work downtown. The detector needs some fine tuning. I have shut off X band now and have been messing with other settings. I would think this and waze would be good enough together but my Nexus 4 I am holding out to upgrade gets it's battery killed my waze.
Anyway, about the jammer. They are legal in LA, but not in TN as far as I remember. And not legal in a few states. Maybe I am thinking GA that they are illegal, but I live 6 miles from GA border and go all of the time, so that would still stop me. Have you looked into this aspect? The cops get real ansy in the places they are illegal when they hit you with the laser, get an error code, and see the front of your car dip down. They will pull you over and look for the jammer.
I know, it's messed up we have to resort to evasion when the people that are supposed to serve and protect are hired to be revenue collectors.

Tight. What do you do when you roll through states that have outlawed them? Are you familiar with the states? Do you just not run it?

Well, it's not like I can take all of the heads off just to go through a few states

Laser Jammers are illegal in:
California
Utah
Colorado
Minnesota
Illinois
Oklahoma
Texas
Tennessee
South Carolina
Virginia - radar detectors are illegal too
Washington DC - radar detectors are illegal too
LINK
While there are a few states that have laser jammers or radar detectors illegal, the fines for getting caught with them are generally less than speeding tickets.

Would you mind sharing your email address?

Didn't you run down some guy and basically do a citizen arrest speeding ticket?
Find it funny if that was you who did that you're now trying to be the one speeding

I made a phone call and followed the direction from the person on the other end of the phone on what to do.

There are many instances where a person may be unknowingly speeding (without causing danger to anyone) because of a change in speed limit that was not well posted where a device like this could come in handy.

I was under the impression that the jammer will return a "code" to the laser... For instance, in stead of "72 MPH" it will return a code like "ETFF2" which tells the officer that you're using a jammer...

I'm not sure. The key I believe it to jam, slow down, and then turn it off and let officer obtain reading. Laser jammers are legal in Louisiana as they fall under FDA administration.

Virginia - radar detectors are illegal too
Our state troopers looooove to run radar all day.

I would suspect so since radar detectors are considered illegal. Should make for easy pickings in the state of Virginia.

I would love to know how many people they mail coming out of NC and PA, I tell everybody visiting here don't speed... No matter what, don't take it above 75
They are loading up on my radar helicopters right now... Yeah, that's right.. Va will bust your arse from the air..

Congrats OP! This may be the trashiest thread in OT history

It'll either not read and kinda buzz or say no lock or something of that nature. It doesn't specifically say that someone is using a jammer. Cops have to use their intuition
Posted on 8/2/15 at 11:47 am to Hammertime
Right, doesn't a "no lock" or whatever reading indicate that you're using some type of device that would be illegal in its own right?
Just as bad (or worse) as a speeding ticket?
