Get a an oreck commercial model. It's around $200. It one of their least expensive models. Tell them it's for your business. Thus they won't even try to upsell you to an expensive home model.
The commercial model is very simple and easy to repair. They stock all the parts. With some simple up keep they will last forever.

They pretty much all suck.

But I have a shark. I'm married so I've never used it. Must work because my house was usually pretty clean.

Amazon routinely has open-box deals or factory refurbs on the dyson ball I'd wait for one of those to come around. We had an Oreck XL that was pretty new, the Dyson blows it away (sucks?). I also got the handheld V6 because I'm a yuppie chump, if you only have hard floors the V6 will be plenty good enough.

I got a low end Miele for just a little more, and it's been great.

I was driving down Florida Blvd many years ago and passed a self service car wash. They had this sign posted: "Our vacuums really suck".

I've had an oreck for years. I recently purchased a Shark for $200.

Get a shark.
