Probably just due to time and sitting directly in the sun for long periods of time

Happened to me once about a week after I got a new windshield. I think the used the wrong type of glue to install the mount. The glass actually melted where the glue was.

I would just crack my windshield and have my glass coverage take care of it. Plus my windshield guys gives me a $100 bill for using him. Most places give you some kind of gift certificate or cash for letting them fix your windshield and insurance covers 100% of it if you have glass coverage and who doesn't these days?

20 minute hardening time? Maybe 20 years ago. They make stuff that hardens in less than 5 minutes. Maybe even 1.

So many things can go wrong rehanging that mirror and will cost you a lot more if you frick it up

Not sure if serious. Like saying a lot can go wrong hanging a picture on the wall, better pay a guy who dropped out of high school to do it.

Clean, glue, hold for like 30 seconds, walk away. When cure time is done, put your mirror on the metal piece you just glued on the windshield.

Oh, lol, you think you actually hold the entire mirror up while the glue dries.
