I use the military version when giving someone my email address over the phone. You would be amazed how many people think sierra starts with a "C".

I have tried, but I always end up saying shite like, "P for penis" "F as in f*g".
I guess my name sounds weird over the phone, because only about 10% of people get it right. I've resorted to just taking what they give me
