Watching my girl, Robin Meade, this morning.

Two different stories about dope. First is about a county in West Virginia that has answered 1,900 calls in the last 12 months for overdose cases. Some died and some did not. This is for a county of less than 100K. Crazy high percentage.

Second story is a county up in Ohio that is creating a mobile morgue out of a pull trailer modification. Doing this to prep for the holiday weekend and a spike in the dope issues over there.

Just don't do it. I have never heard of recreational heroin. I just don't think it is possible.

You will never look like Robin Meade or get with Robin Meade if you keep messing with that dope mess.

The goddamn addicts ruin it for us responsible folk who can occasionally shoot up before work and function in society.

Thought you were talking about weed at first.

The opiate problem isn't heroin. It's pills. The deeper you get, the more you need. They are expensive. So you start melting them down and shooting up. After you've run out of money you go with cheeper stronger stuff, heroin.

Most of these people don't start with recreational heroin use. They start with a legal sub of something like oxycontin.

Most people trying heroin are already past the point of making a decision. A former friend of mine was a pill addict. Pills stopped doing it for him and he started doing heroine. He didn't know what he was doing and overdosed. The guy he was shooting up with had a higher tolerance and called for an ambulance. They resuscitated my friend, and he went to rehab for legitimately the 10th time. He keeps going to rehab, but he can't stop being an addict no matter how much help he gets

This! Good friend of mine that I taught with had back surgery and a year later still had a doc giving him 180 perkys a visit. Until pharmaceutical companies and doctors are held responsible nothing will change

Ohio councilman: After 2 overdoses, no more EMS

USA Today

quote:

Middletown City Council member Dan Picard told the local Journal-News that arresting those who overdose on heroin or other drugs adds to the problem by straining the city budget, jail and court system.

“John Smith obviously doesn’t care much about his life, but he’s expending a lot of resources and we can’t afford it,” Picard said.

I know it sounds callous, but I can't say I disagree with this.

Problem with people od'ing isnt pain meds.

A single pill resembling a 30mg OxyContin tablet is enough to kill 60 people if it’s made of fentanyl, and possibly thousands if it’s carfentanil.

Tell me about it, I used to mind my own business and drink in my car on my lunch break until some cocksucker ratted me out.

I've never really shared this and some former co-workers will know me once I put this out there but oh well. I had a major 4 wheeler accident while I was at home from offshore a few years ago. They prescribed me norcos and eventually one or two wasn't enough. It got to the point I was getting them other places. Now during this whole time I had no clue that the girl I was with at the time was using them more than me. And we just had the most precious little girl.
Well on a trip offshore I ran out of my norcos and still had a long way to go that hitch. I looked at one of my good friends out there while we were talking and he had no clue. After talking I decided that I didn't want this life anymore and wanted my old life back. The real guy everyone knew. I went to the medic and explained to him the trouble and they immediately got me off of there, even though I held a higher position, and put work aside to make sure I could get better. I went straight to a place in New Orleans and stayed for about a month. I can proudly say today that it's been close to 5 years and I haven't looked back plus I got full custody of my daughter.

So I know this was long but believe me there's help out there and people who want to help. You can always talk to me. But one major factor is YOU have to want the help. It doesn't matter what class you're in, it can happen quick.
